// EDUCATION FOR EVERYONE //

"I appeared for SLC this year.
But I have heard that they are going
to cancel the results.
I don’t know how true it is.
But there are other things that I hear too.
About new earthquakes. I am afraid.
I hope they will publish the SLC results.
But I have heard that they are going to cancel
 all results.
I did good in all the subjects
and
was waiting for the results to come out
and go back to study.
I always came 1st division in my class.
I want to become a maths teacher.
But the school has come down.
I don’t know how they are going to teach
the students now."

// I FEEL LIKE A BODY WITHOUT A SOUL //

It's almost 3 weeks since the
 first earthquake hit Nepal.
I, Karoline was in Kathmandu
when it striked
and I was there for 6 days
 before I returned to
Norway as planned the 30th of April.
It's  the most horrible,
terrifying thing that has ever
happened in my life.
And now I'm here in Norway.
Safe and "sound",
but worried about my Nepali family
and friends,
for Nepali people in general
and as a country.
I feel really sad and frustrated,
And I am here...
in safe, little Norway.
I didn't loose my family,
my house or my future
and still I
feel empty in a way I have
never felt before.
When people ask me how I am, my honest answer
would
be that I don't really know
 how I feel.
Leaving Nepal this time is one of the most
difficult things I have ever done.
Rather than feeling relieved
to go home and be safe,
I felt I was leaving my close ones
and
 my second home behind.

The frustration I have felt earlier about
 all the unfairness
in this world is just feeling a lot
 heavier than before,
and when I came back to Norway I was
physically exhausted
in a way I've never been before...

And I am one of the lucky ones!!!

So when I'm feeling like this,
I somehow understand
 Jhalak Bahadur
and
that after returning to his no
longer existing village
 he now feels like

body without soul :(

Nepal needs us to continue to
support with money for
rebuilding
peoples lives
and
to get help to deal with
their post traumatic stress
after going trough a crisis like this!

// STORIES OF NEPAL; MIRA RAI, SOOOO INSPIRING! //

“I come from a place where life is
 the most difficult.
The closest source of drinking water
was 40 minutes from my house.
Everyday I walked several hours with over
25 kilos of weight in my back.
And my family’s immediate concern for many
years was the next meal.
Rough terrain and hard labour was the way of life.
But I always knew one day I will do something,
 become someone.
I was always looking out for opportunities.
In 2005, I joined the maoists rebels
and was involved in their activities for 2 years.
I saw this as an opportunity for exposure.
I was good in sports particularly running.
I excelled and kept to it.
12 months back I got an opportunity to participate
in a 50 km race and I grabbed it.
I won and I never looked back.
Today I have participated in over 9 international
ultra trail runs –
running the most difficult of terrains
and altitudes in several continents
and I have won 8 of those races breaking
 records in 4.
But my story will always start from where
 I came from,
from the days I walked 40 minutes every day
for many years just to fetch water.”
